Lumen the Sim · Lumenation Industry · WRLD WIDE
Lumenation Industry is a transcendental media archive and creative studio operating at the intersection of folk art, mass media mythology, and emergent production technology. Under the working identity Lumen the Sim, I develop an ongoing body of work that synthesises a lifetime of media consumption — animation, gaming, devotional imagery, internet culture, and popular iconography — into an original system of visual world-building with its own lore, characters, and cosmology.
My practice draws equally from art historical tradition and the vernacular forms of contemporary life: the social media reel, the fan page, the gif, the meme. I treat these not as low forms but as the folk media of the present moment — the altars, illuminated manuscripts, and morality plays of now. The work moves between handmade fabrication, digital animation, sculptural installation, and moving image, refusing the boundary between the artisanal and the algorithmic.
The figures and worlds I build — among them the pilgrimage of The Ballad of Bunko and the animated vaudeville universe of The Slanted Grove — are conceived as the beginnings of a mythology capable of growing to the scale of the properties that shaped me: Disney, Pokemon, the great popular imaginaries of the twentieth century. I build this alone, using 3D printing, AI-assisted design, and application automation not as novelties but as the home production methods of a new kind of studio — one person competing on imagination rather than budget.
This work is new and growing. It is meant to disseminate globally, to be felt before it is understood, and to prove that the distance between a single maker and an enduring world is shorter than the culture industry would have you believe.
